Leave the room immediately without looking at or acknowledging your dog in any way.  Never give your dog any attention when he or she is misbehaving as even negative attention may be a desirable response from you and will halt your efforts to stop dog barking.

3. Never forget to praise your dog when he or she does stop barking when he or she has been told to do so. Make the praise pleasant and genuine so that your dog knows that you’re pleased with his or her behavior.

4. Exercise your dog every day to stop dog barking that results from pent-up energy. Stop dog barking caused by restlessness by providing regular activities and exercise every single day.

5. Cut boredom in your dog by playing with him or her and giving lots of attention every day. Play with him or her and provide toys so that when you’re not there or you can’t play, then he or she can keep him or herself occupied.

6. Build a predictable routine so that your dog doesn’t feel the need to bark to say when he or she is hungry or bored – he or she will already know that the right attention is coming soon. Set a certain time for your dog’s feedings, walks, playtime, and even bedtime.

7. Don’t waste your time by attempting to stop dog barking at all times. It is only excessive barking that can be stopped.  If you are choosing to adopt a dog, then you will need to accept the occasional vocalization – it’s what dogs do.

• Punishment aggression – Aggressive dog leanings in this style occurs when a dog has been abused, overly dominated, or has experienced too much negative reinforcement and has built up aggressive behaviors that would not otherwise have been there.
• Pain aggression – Aggressive dog inclinations of this type aren’t a result of a behavioral problem but are simply the instinctual reaction a dog has to feeling intense pain. The dog will bite or snarl involuntarily due to illness or injury.
• Predatory aggression – An aggressive dog of this nature is following hunting instincts and will interpret just about anything as prey that should be captured. Anything that isn’t secured to the ground can be chased and if it is captured, there could be real danger if the prey is, for example, a child or another animal.
• Maternal aggression – An aggressive dog style may be adopted by a mother dog who has a litter of puppies, since she is running on instinct to protect them. Be warned that a mother dog may interpret just about anything as being threatening to her young and may act on this presumption.

Indeed, there may be other kinds of aggression that are causing your dog to behave the way he or she does, but this list can give you a good place to start your understanding of the triggers. By identifying the reason that these behaviors occur, you’re able to focus your behavior modification training to properly assist your dog.

Before this horrible dog digging behavior drives you completely insane, there are some important things that you should know and try. In that case, you might want to lay some bricks down along the ground in the offending areas to discourage the behavior.

If you’re discovering that there seem to be dog digging holes everywhere in the yard without a discernable pattern, your dog may have excess energy. Burn off the excess energy by giving your dog more frequent or long or longer walks. You can try adding an additional walk to your routine, lengthening your current walk, or adding some high energy games such as fetch.

Of course, it’s always a good idea to make the dog digging locations as unappealing as possible, so sprinkle them with cayenne or red pepper, and make a loud noise every time your dog seems inclined to dig in them. Even a quick shot from a squirt bottle may be enough to make dog digging an unpleasant behavior for your dog, too.

You should always take care of the problem before it breaks out as a huge disorder. Many times we are faced with situations when several methods to stop dog digging simply don’t work.
